Laura Latham

Laura is a middle school social studies teacher, mother, and labor activist with a passion for social justice. This is her ninth year of teaching having taught elementary and middle grades in Title One schools in Springfield and Phoenix-Talent. 

She is passionate about educator mental health, having experienced first hand the trauma and crisis experienced by educators, students and families during and after the Almeda Fire in 2020 that devastated Phoenix-Talent. 

Laura uses her elected positions as President of the Phoenix-Talent Education Association and OEA Board Member representing Southern Oregon to uplift the voices of rural educators and advocate for equity in education, healthcare and beyond.
