Siri Ngai, M.S. in Curriculum & Instruction and Teacher Leadership
Community Engagement Coordinator
She/her
Siri is known for being a compassionate leader who centers her work at the crucial intersection of equity and well-being, working to address the needs of Oregon educators, including historically marginalized groups.
After serving as a US State Department Fulbright Teaching Fellow responsible for creating cross-cultural programs in Thailand, Siri spent nine years as a middle and high school English teacher in the Gladstone School District.
She taught Advanced Sophomore English, Creative Writing, and Journalism and served as District Equity Committee Lead, local union Communications Director, advisor to Student Advocates for Equity (SAFE), and was a member of the Wellness Committee. It was through her work helping to create lesson plans and professional development tools on equity, anti-racism, and well-being that she first learned about the Oregon Well-being Trust and its mission.
Siri’s work at the Trust includes:
- Educator community engagement, including collaboration with regional and statewide education and health partners.
- Managing accessible Community Event Support funding to support education employee convenings with well-being speakers, facilitators, providers, and tools.
- Implementing regional events to increase educator well-being capacity, with a focus on rural and underserved communities.
- Fostering equitable reach and engagement through conference and event presentations, promotions, and support.
Siri holds a Master of Science, Curriculum and Instruction and Teacher Leadership from Portland State University and has served as a Teacher Advisory Board Member for the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education.
A lifelong Oregonian, Siri loves fishing, camping, and foraging with her partner and their son, getting outside every chance she gets.
