Due to impacts from the pandemic, Seaside School District staff were feeling disconnected, isolated, and struggling with their morale on the job. The Everyday Wellness team at Seaside used some of their Education Employee Well-Being (EEW) grant funds to offer activities that helped staff reconnect – not just with each other, but also with the wider Seaside community.|

One of their innovative ideas was “Wellness Wednesdays.” These monthly events help connect staff to their colleagues as well as to local partners and businesses who provide a variety of activities, from cooking classes to Zen doodling to laser tag.

Thanks to their district leadership, who are active supporters of well-being programming, staff (both licensed and classified) have not only permission, but encouragement, to attend since all staff are given paid time to attend these activities.
