What is your work at the Trust?

I support Oregon education employees throughout the grant application process and ensure a smooth review process for our internal Grant Team and board. I co-coordinate the annual grantee meeting, Journey to Wellness. I also support a portfolio of current grantees with implementing their employee well-being programs by listening and connecting them with resources and new ideas.

Why do I do this work?

I am passionate about ensuring that everyone working in education has the physical, social, and emotional resources to find fulfillment at work. I believe that workplaces should have a culture that promotes trust, care, and creativity.

What unique talents do I bring to the work, according to my colleagues?

  • Asta is crafty, humorous, and helpful.
  • Asta is a caring team member and advocate for the well-being needs of classified education employees. This advocacy is strengthened by personal experience working in Nutrition Services.
  • Asta makes experiences meaningful with creativity and intention. She prioritizes connection and well-being in her supportive approach to building relationships.

Previous work/credentials:

I have over a decade of education work experience in large and small districts. I started my career as a Farm-to-School Coordinator and have exclusively worked with classified staff in Nutrition Services.

Who am I?

I was born in Portland, Oregon, and raised by a single parent. I’ve had the opportunity to live internationally and all over the United States, but the Pacific Northwest holds the title of “home” for me.

What does well-being look like for me?

My well-being is supported by getting sufficient sleep, moving my body a lot throughout the day, being creative, and spending time with the people I love.
