Why do I serve on this board?
Healthy work environments are essential in order to create systems in public education where educators can be resilient, thrive, and feel supported in doing their best work for and with students.
What unique strengths do I bring to the board?
As the president of the largest educator union in the state of Oregon, and being a bilingual educator with a background in creating culturally responsive school systems, I am able to bring varied perspectives to our work on the Board.
Who am I?
I grew up in rural communities in Alaska and Micronesia and came to Oregon on a scholarship from Pacific University. I am proud to call Oregon home and deeply dedicated to creating the best schools for our students to learn in and our educators to work in.
What does well-being look like for me?
Well-being means paying attention to life’s challenges and joys and making intentional space for both. It also means giving oneself the space and grace to continually learn and grow.
