The first Oregon Well-being Trust Regional Convening was a smashing success! The convening was held on April 16, 2024 at the gorgeous Wildhorse Resort and Casino in Pendleton, Oregon. A special thank you to our partners, InterMountain ESD and the Oregon Trail Regional Educator Network, for their help in making this event possible.

There were over 80 attendees at the event. Educational employees from Morrow, Umatilla, Union and Baker counties came, as well as representatives from many amazing local and statewide partners. Attendees learned about different programs working to improve the lives of educational employees.

The Eastern Oregon University’s Lab for Exercise Assessment Performance (LEAP) and the Eastern Oregon Center for Independent Living (EOCIL), which provides safe spaces and community building for the area’s LGBTQ2SIA+ population, presented on their work supporting educational employees and the larger Eastern Oregon community

La Grande School District and Elgin School District, who both have Education Employee Well-being Grants from Oregon Well-being Trust, shared the successes and challenges of implementing well-being programs in their districts.

Miller Movement, a yoga studio based in Hermiston, led somatic practices and mindful movement yoga sessions and The Teacher Show Comedy provided some lunchtime laughs.

Thank you to those who were able to attend! It was an honor to learn from the wisdom in the room and to exchange the joys and barriers of working to improve educator well-being. We truly couldn’t do this work without all of you.
